The FAN Network is an independant and alternative news source that operated in the Easy Park parking lot at the Garbage Conglomerate Theater (GCT) The anchor, Steve covered breaking news as well as the weather and sports during the months of January and Feburary of 2020
FAN is an acronym for Fake Ass News, this project addresses the ligitimacy and conventions of newsreporting through use of satire.
When this project was exhibited it included a social aspect suggesting viewers to participate as citizens of the FAN Network world. They were encouraged to self organize around a decmocratic desicion which consisted of spending $10. The failure of political action and viewer participation demonstrated the necessity of leaders to mobilize the public.
Installation included 16 Yes/No signs and film played on monitor.
